Reykjavík’s Jónfrí doesn’t need much introduction — hit records, a devoted following, and a reputation that keeps on growing. The band’s sophomore album Djúpfalsað Efni, forthcoming in september 2026, is the record that makes sense of all of it. The album seamlessly fuses indie, disco and techno — the kind of music Tame Impala and Talking Heads might make if you locked them in Berghain and threw away the key. At its most groovy, it sounds like Nile Rodgers jumped aboard a Steely Dan yacht and nobody’s complaining. Expect an upbeat set filled with catchy riffs, groovy beats and a dancefloor to remember.
